Biografía
Davide Travaglini graduated in Forestry at the University of Florence in 2001. In 2005 he got Philosophy Doctorate in Forest Planning. Since 2007 to 2014 he was researcher at the University of Florence, Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Systems (GESAAF). Since 2014 he is Associated Professor at the Department GESAAF of the University of Florence. He teaches Forest geomatics and Forest measurements at the Bachelor Degree Course in Forest and Environmental Sciences (University of Florence), and Ecological Planning at the Master Degree Course in Landscape Architecture (University of Florence). He is member of the Italian Academy of Forest Sciences, and member of the Italian Society of Silviculture and Forest Ecology. He is member of the Editorial office of the European Journal of Remote Sensing, member of the Editorial office of the Italian Journal of Forest and Mountain Environments, and subject Editor of iForest Journal. His fields of expertise are remote sensing, geographic information systems and global positioning systems as tools supporting forest inventory, forest planning, sustainable forest management and forest monitoring. He is coauthor of papers published in technical and scientific journals, books and proceedings, and monographs. He participated to research projects funded by European Union, Italian Ministry for Education, University and Research, Italian Ministry of Agriculture, and Italian Ministry for the Environment.
